98. A Full Day in Brazil

Friday, 1/25/13

       Brazil was quite the spectacle.

We woke up, bought bus tickets for tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. Then we crossed the river into Brazil again. We grabbed a place at a quant hotel. It was one of the simpler hotels, yet the same price as the nicest hotel across the river in Bolivia. Things are definitely more expensive in Brazil.

We bought some jerseys, ate some ice cream, and tried to speak with the locals. Communicating was not easy. I know the absolute minimum of Portuguese from my mom, and Chad and Ali knew squat diddly. Us knowing Spanish helped us less we thought at first. I did have a few good conversations though. One 19 year-old stock boy at the best grocery store offered to put us up for the night at his place. We denied, but appreciated the gesture nonetheless.

As Sabbath approached, we Skyped our parents with the much faster Internet. Then, Chads parents treated us to supper at the best pizza place in the world. We got four flavors with various toppings such as heart of palm, corn, peas, Parmesan and mozzarella cheese.

Yummo

We have to wakeup earlier tomorrow to cross so until then, Happy Sabbath from Brazil!

       **Keep adventurizing!...I know I will!**
